hello again

Hey guys,
Sorry for the lack of content recently, but with the new job, wedding planning, doctors visits for my knee and other peoples weddings, I have been just way to busy.
Things are good on this end though, I am loving the new job. It’s great because not only do they pull my audio talents, but they are also using my background as a producer and project management, which in the long run gives me the experience I need to someday become an audio director and make the big $$. The commute sucks, but you all know that haha, but the great thing is that once I am here actually doing the work, I forget about the commute and just work.
The wedding plans are coming together. Me and Chrissy decided that we wanted to do a destination wedding in Hawaii. We had already booked a trip to Hawaii for this October, which is part of the reason why we were waiting until October 2010 to have our wedding, so we’d have enough time after Hawaii to save up. But, weddings cost way to much money, and with going to Hawaii we weren’t going to be able to afford a honeymoon next year, so we decided to move Hawaii up a few months and just get married over there. Our parents are going to come and perhaps a few friends, so it should be awesome. Then, when we get back we are going to have a reception. We are still going to have a wedding party and still do the introductions and speeches and all that jazz, it will be as if the ceremony happened right before…just it actually happened like 10 days before. We are both very excited
Some of may know that I have a bad knee, and in the past month or so it has gotten worse. The doctor thinks I may have re-injured it. The speculation is that I have torn MCL and torn cartilage, but they won’t know for sure until I have an MRI. When I went to see the doctor, he grabbed my knee and applied some pressure, this caused the knee cap to move out of position and a ton of pain, so he stopped. I am wearing a knee brace which should help to prevent the knee cap from always popping out on me. I am hopeful, but doubtful that I won’t need surgery, but hopefully if I do it’s something I can find out about asap, so I can just get it over with and not have to worry about Hawaii.
My friends Matt and Nicole are getting married this Friday, and they were awesome enough to ask me to be part of the wedding party. We are playing golf Thursday morning, then doing the rehearsal dinner, then the wedding on Friday. So I get to go to a kick ass wedding, AND take 2 days off from work…..not a bad deal haha.
Don’t forget if you are a gamer like me and you own a ps3, inFamous came out today. I’ve played the demo, and I am very excited to get home and start playing. It has some of the smoothest controls i’ve ever seen in an action based open world game…..much better then Grand Theft Auto.
That’s about it really. Leave me comments, say hello and stuff!
-Peace!
PS: In case you are wondering why I put that picture in this thread. Look real close at the license plate. I took that last week haha.
mmmmmmm Bioshock
Bioshock was and still is one of my favorite games of all time, when I heard they were making a follow up, I was very excited. Below is a 9 minute walkthrough of Bioshock 2…..and I have to say, I am even more excited. ( Yes I’m 30, and yes I still get excited about video games. But since I make them for a living, I am allowed.)
Hi Dad!!
So I found out that my dad reads this blog. This means I need to be nice and clean….hahahahahahahaha ya right.
Boston
One of the nice things about working in Boston……the walks are nice.
what candy?
One of the nice things about the new office space is that there is no candy machine or soda machine ( at least not one that I have found yet ). Why is this good? Because it means I have been drinking water instead of mountain dew all day, and not getting candy either. After 1 week, I already feel better haha.
Seriously?!?!
Traffic at 9:30am is dumb. I hate my commute.
AWWWWWW MAN!!!!

Grrrrrr. I was really really looking forward to Batman Arkham Asylum, which was supposed to come out sometime in June. Now it’s been pushed back to the end of summer. I guess I will have to wait till I can save Gotham……
Cross fingers
Today I get my car inspected. It sucks cuz I havnet passed an inspection on the first try since I moved to NH. Unlike Mass they do a full saftey inspection, even as far as checking your breaks. Which I guess overall is a god thing, but always makes me nervous. Last year I failed because a check engine lite came on. Turned out to be nothing, but they are very strict. That’s what I get for having a car with 180,000 miles on it.
Please keep your fingers crossed for me!
Back in the saddle again
Well Monday it will be official! I will be back into the audio industry, and even better I will be in the gaming industry still! I couldn’t be happier. For those who may not have known, I worked in audio for about 6 years before coming to Turbine to be an associate producer. Though I have learned a lot as a producer, it just wasn’t my passion, and I was afraid that I made a decision that was going to prevent me from getting back into audio.
The reason I took the producing gig is because I had wanted to get into gaming for so long that I sort of convinced myself that I would be ok, just as long as I was in gaming. And heck I had done producing in broadcasting so how differnet could it be? Let me tell you……it’s a lot. But having gotten out of audio, I realized just how much of a passion it is for me, and I desperately wanted to get back into it.
So I got lucky, and I will be working with 745 studios located in downtown Boston on Monday as the audio engineer. It’s the perfect gig for me because they make music based video games, so I will get to combine music with audio and gaming…….oh my!!
And not to sound like I am bragging, but I am really proud that I was able to do this. Everyone in the gaming industry will tell you that just getting into gaming is tough, but to get an audio gig in gaming is even tougher. Theres hundreds of thousands of people that want to do this job…but I got it. Makes me happy!
