And here i sit.

So here I sit at the midnight sale for The new Batman game. I’m picking up the collectors edition which comes with some behind the scenes footage, an art book, some extra maps and more importantly a 2 foot long replica of a batarang!!! Some people might think it’s lame that I am at a midnight sale, and some might think it’s lamer that I want to own a 2 foot long batarang.

Well let me answer the batarang thing. I like to collect things. I actually own a never opened brand new copy of Bases Loaded for the NES! My work desk has a bunch of figures from various video games, including Kratos, a big daddy and Altiar. You might say that’s childish. Let me explain. I make video games for a living and the gaming culture is very big into respecting other games. They inspire us. The figures on my desk are from games that have amazing sound design and I enjoy looking at them when I get stuck. Plus I won’t lie, they look damn cool haha. But really it’s all about surrounding myself with the gaming culture. It helps me to be creative and remember why we do what we do. Someday I want to see one of my games represented in a toy store, and someday would love to see another developer use my game as inspiration.

As far as the midnight sale. I actually only go because it’s easier to pick up the game late at night then wait till after work when all I want to do is get home, hug Chrissy and eat din din. Plus I get the game before all you suckers!!!
